Troy A. Flax, O.D.

Dr. Troy Flax attended NSU College of Optometry and upon graduation in 1993 joined the US Army where he served as Chief of Optometry at Fort McClellan, Alabama from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Flax returned home to Norman and purchased the practice of Jim Ryan that same year. He then partnered with Dr. Pepper Martin to form Norman Vision Clinic.

Dr. Flax’s dedication and expertise have been recognized on numerous occasions. In 2000, he was named the Norman Transcript Optometrist of the Century. Since 2000, Dr. Flax and Dr. Martin have consistently exchanged the title, “Transcript’s Optometrist of the Year,” over 20 times. Their clinic has also been awarded the title of Best Eye Clinic every year; a testament to their commitment to excellence.

In addition to his work in the clinic, Dr. Flax has lectured on various eye-care topics and has spoke at national and international conferences. He is also active in his state associations, the OAOP, where he was a Legislative Key Person.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Flax enjoys hunting, fishing, and land conservation on the acreage he owns with Dr. Martin. In 2020 they were honored to have been named the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife’s Landowner of the Year.

Dr. Flax has been married to his wife Jenny (nee McIntosh) for more than 30 years, and together they have raised a family of four children and countless dogs. Dr. Flax’s dedication to his patients, his community and the environment make him a truly exceptional eye doctor.

Pepper Martin, O.D.

Dr. Pepper Martin is an Optometric Physician who enjoyed growing up in the small community of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma. He spent many years playing basketball until a season ending injury while at El Reno Jr College. He then began focusing on a career path which led him to the field of Optometry.

Dr. Martin attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where he graduated with honors in 1994. He was published in the Journal of the American Optometric Association as a Senior Doctoral Student at NSUOCO.

Dr. Martin moved to Norman where he joined the private practice of Dr. Richard Morgan Lee. He considered Dr. Lee a great friend and mentor and enjoyed the many stories that he shared. Dr. Lee and his wife shared their faith, their love of OU and introduced them to many wonderful friends in the Norman area.

In 1997, Dr. Martin and Dr. Troy Flax joined their practices after their mentoring Dr's retired. They continued under the name, Norman Vision Clinic, since its establishment by Dr. Lee in 1956. They strive to provide the latest in technology with state-of-the-art equipment, most current frame styles and all contact lens needs.

Dr. Martin specializes in treating ocular diseases in the areas of glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, dry eye management, YAG laser procedures and referrals for cataract surgery as well as their pre- and post-op care. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Martin has a passion for serving his patients and caring for their eye health needs. He realizes how important it is to take care of one's eye health and their vision since being diagnosed with Type I Diabetes during his early teenage years.

Dr. Martin has been blessed to have received such honors as Norman Transcript's Eye Doctor of the year on numerous occasions and has been voted "Best of Optometrists" in Cleveland County's Lifestyle Magazine.

He has considered it an honor to serve on the Governor Appointed Cleveland County Board of Health for several years and a privilege to be a member of the Kaleidoscope Board, an organization serving grieving children and families as they suffer the loss of loved ones. He has also enjoyed serving as a Deacon and being a part of various committees at church.

Dr. Martin and his high school sweetheart, Kellie, have enjoyed being a part of the Norman community raising their 3 children. He has enjoyed coaching his kids' teams throughout the years and has enjoyed watching their games from the stands or sidelines in basketball, volleyball, soccer and track.

Dr. Martin enjoys golfing, hunting, mowing his lawn and watching OU sports, especially football. He enjoys attending church and spending quality time with family.

Jacob Bellamy, O.D.

Dr. Bellamy

Dr. Bellamy was born and raised in southwest Oklahoma and grew up in the town of Anadarko. He began his collegiate career in Dodge City, KS playing junior college baseball before transferring to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford to earn his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Bellamy continued his education in Tahlequah at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry where he received his Doctorate of Optometry. In his spare time, Dr. Bellamy enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, golfing, movies, sports, music, and traveling. Dr. Bellamy provides personable comprehensive primary eye care: prescription glasses, sunglasses, blue-light blocking lenses, contact lens fitting and training, and provides consultation and management for refractive surgeries, such as LASIK and PRK. Dr. Bellamy treats and manages ocular disease such as: Diabetes, Glaucoma, Age-Related Macular Degeneration, eye infections, and dry eye. Dr. Bellamy is a member of both American Optometric Association (AOA) and Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP).

Dr. Bellamy currently sees patients in Moore on Mondays and Fridays, and in Norman on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
